Fertility medication was once a cornerstone of IVF treatment. Advancements in medical practices have allowed new, more holistic IVF alternatives that use little to no fertility medication.
Natural Cycle IVF
This natural approach to IVF allows a woman’s cycle to progress naturally. Regular monitoring is done in order to evaluate the progress of the one egg that is naturally produced during the cycle. Once the egg is mature, it is harvested and fertilized. Unlike conventional IVF where the uterine lining is affected by fertility medication, fresh embryo transfers are one with Natural IVF unless a woman requests otherwise.
Minimal Stimulation IVF
Minimal stimulation, also known as Mini, IVF takes a gentler approach to stimulating a woman’s body. Oral medication is used to stimulate the body to produce a small number of high quality eggs. These oral medications are supplemented by between one and three doses of injectable medication. This stands in stark contrast with the up to 60 injections that may be required with traditional IVF. The eggs are harvested and then fertilized, with surplus embryos stored for a future cycle.
Ultra Mini IVF
An ultra mini IVF cycle uses only oral IVF medication and requires no injections. Typically, the oral medication consists of taking one to two pills daily in order to promote the growth of multiple eggs. The lack of injectable medications significantly reduces the chance for side effects while maintaining the high success rates associated with conventional IVF.

- Decreased likelihood of developing OHSS
