How Do I Find Help Conceiving?

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)

When you’ve been trying to conceive on your own without success it can be extremely frustrating.  Especially when it seems to happen so quickly for others.  The time frame where you feel the need to find help conceiving will be different for every couple.

Many doctors recommend you seek help conceiving after trying to get pregnant after twelve months if you’re under age 35 or six months if you’re over age 35. It is important to view this recommendation as a guideline, if you feel you need help conceiving before this time contact a fertility specialist.  can-I-get-pregnant

How do I find the right doctor?

The best way to find a doctor is via referral.  Your Ob/Gyn may have a fertility center they typically refer patients to.  Your friends and family may have had a positive experience, or may know someone who has had fertility care.

When looking at fertility specialists, make sure to understand the costs associated with treatment and if the fertility center accepts your insurance coverage if applicable.  Before deciding on a center, visit the facility and speak with the staff.  It’s important to find a place where you feel comfortable.

What are the available options for treatment?

The first step in treatment is to understand your current fertility health situation.  Although many women have the same diagnosis, they should be treated based on their individual needs.  At New Hope Fertility Center, we offer several options for treating infertility including:

  • Timed Intercourse with monitoring
  • Traditional IVF
  • Mini IVF
  • Natural Cycle IVF
  • Egg and embryo banking
  • Donor egg bank
  • Genetic diagnosis and screening
  • Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)

Not every option will apply to every patient.  At New Hope, we take care to fully understand your unique fertility care needs before agreeing upon your personalized treatment plan.
