I’m Pregnant After 39 Thanks to New Hope’s Mini-IVF™ Success

Baby GirlMy husband left me at age 39. Prior to our marriage, I agreed with my ex-husband not to have children. A choice I deeply regret. I have always wanted to be a mom. I was raised by a mother who gave me love in a memorable way. I’ve watched my sisters give birth to beautiful children who have given them joy in their lives.

Mini-IVF™ Success Story After 39

After the divorce, I was worried that I had intentionally let motherhood slip through my fingers with a bad partner choice. Then, I saw a special report on NBC News about the rise in number of women over 45 having babies. I was inspired. Even though I was alone, my desire to have a baby resurfaced with a new hope for my next life.

I came to New Hope Fertility Center because I was drawn to the clinic’s name – New Hope. My fertility care team was non-judgmental about my divorced, single parent status. They were warm and encouraging about my desire to be a single new mom without a husband or partner.

I had no problem using donor sperm to conceive a baby, but I was worried about the quality of my eggs at age 39. I wasn’t too sure if my 39 year-old eggs would jeopardize my ability to conceive a healthy, biologically-related baby. And, I was skeptical about using donor eggs.

After going through a regimen of testing with no complications detected, my fertility care team was optimistic that I could produce quality eggs with the help of their cutting-edge IVF technology.

Mini-IVF™ Success Story

I went through one fresh cycle of Mini-IVF™ using donor sperm. I was able to produce three quality eggs that successfully fertilized and developed into healthy embryos. Two of my embryos were frozen because I chose to have a single-embryo transfer. My first two frozen embryo transfers failed. I only had one baby girl frozen embryo for a third transfer attempt.

My New Hope fertility team was relentlessly encouraging throughout my first, second, and third frozen embryo transfer attempts. The third time was a charm and I gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl – Hope!

I give this note of thanks to my fertility team at New Hope and for inspiration to other women who want to have a baby without a partner. For all the single ladies out there wanting to have a baby – Hope Finds A Way! – Caroline D. 12.3.19
