Trying to conceive can be an extremely stressful experience. You have to deal with both the emotional and physical aspects of fertility treatment while continue to handle your day to day responsibilities. It’s important that you deal with your stress and keep calm while trying to have a baby.

Schedule breaks – Finding time for yourself can be difficult. Therefore, schedule breaks just like you would with any other event or meeting. You are important, taking care of yourself plays a large role in your fertility.

Talk about your feelings – You should have one or two people in your circle that you feel comfortable talking freely with. It’s great to have someone on call for those tough days. New Hope offers support groups for our patients as well. This enables you to meet other couples that are dealing with the same fertility issues you have. Being able to speak freely about your situation without judgment is therapeutic. Also, you may benefit from knowing that you are not the only one experiencing the ups and downs of fertility care.

Focus on the prize – On the rough days, remind yourself that you’re doing all of this for someone - your future son or daughter. And in the end, that makes everything worth it.
