How Do DHEA Supplements Help Treat Infertility?

DHEA supplements are increasingly being used in fertility care.  DHEA, short for dehydroepiandrosterone, is a hormone that is naturally produced by the body’s adrenal glands.  A woman produces the highest levels of DHEA during her twenties.  After this point, the levels of DHEA begin to decline along with a woman’s fertility.  Research has shown that supplementing DHEA has significant effects on a woman’s fertility, her ability to become pregnant and the chance of a live birth.
